ratan, your analysis is not accurate. the US financed and helped train the mujahadeen, which was a loose band of the tribes and volunteers from fundamentalists all over the Islamic world. after the Russians were defeated the bin laden took over the infrastructure. from that the Taliban were created. it is inaccurate to say that US support of bin laden threw out the real leaders in Afghanistan. the US supported the mujahadeen, not any one faction of it.
