Mark,

I didn't mean to suggest that the question of arno should be let go...only that the side dispute should be.....as it is unnecessary.

In reading through my post to you I see I wasn't clear about that, and just said "let it go" in more general terms....sorry about that.

Absolutely you can ask questions here. You did so politely, and I have no problem with that. I don't think anyone else does either. I'm sure arno will clarify what he meant at some point as the discussion continues.

I have found my own patience running short at home....when the kids wouldn't behave last night, I was a little sharper in my words to them than I normally would be. It is as though life right now has no foundation.....that image, especially of the second plane hitting, just runs through my mind over and over again, even if I leave the TV off.

This is a difficult time for us all.

Hi mr. mark...

It's good to see you here. And as you can see tensions are still running high.<g>

I for one appreciate your question, and I think it's something we should think about and determine within ourselves. So far the problem has been we are not seeing specifics as to what future course of actions should be taken to deal with the terrorist threat. We're hearing vague "declarations of war" on terrorists without the corresponding actions.

Now it is early. This is not the same as declaring war on a sovereign nation with defined borders and alliances. I want to hear from our government WHAT actions will be taken against those who have committed these acts and those countries that supported them.

I want to know how to answer your question collectively as a nation. How can we respond without fully knowing what is being asked of us as a people?

I don't want to speak for Arno but let me say - I question whether we have the resolve too. But thats a collective thing not an individual thing. People wont be fired up about losing their standard of living over an event like this (assuming it ever even comes close - which is a huge leap IMO). But I guess the point here is you seem to be taking personal offense to a collective question. I don't think we will really know that answer until this all shakes out.

EDIT

And yes your opinions are always welcome on this thread. Lets just try not to allow the times to destroy the group dynamic we enjoy on this thread.

i did ask the question of arno

Yes you did, and I hoped I answered it to your satisfaction. If not let me know.

Please don't ever stop asking questions here mr.mark, it is the only way we have to stimulate our thoughts. I will answer any you ask.

or he hasn't made his public position clear enough.

My public position is this....To fight a WAR against terrorism we have to destroy the society that supports it, not just a few people....We have never done that.

I just want people to reflect on what that means.....and not kid ourselves.
