I have to wonder what he thinks was being accomplished by his "public" phone call to Pataki and Guilliani? It was so staged that the unnaturalness of it was not a good venue for showcasing him. He is not good at unrehearsed moments. So why do his handlers put him in that situation? It does in fact expose him to these very observations about him. Less is more at this time of crisis.
