Carl asked which Wall Street analysts are missing....

The Web, especially Yahoo and other news portals, is the best way to find out how Wall Street has been affected. Here's one article I found, excerpted:

nyt.com

"But David Alger, 57, who had been running the firm, Fred Alger Management, from its offices high in 1 World Trade Center, was missing and presumed dead yesterday. So were 37 others among the firm's 235 employees, including research analysts, managers and support staff."

Carl, RE: "Some of the familiar analysts will no doubt have perished in this Great Tragedy. Does anybody have any idea as to whom might be missing...carl"

I haven't heard any reports about any MS analysts missing.

But Cantor Fitzgerald Securities was hurt very badly. So many employees missing. Very sad.

While replying to your post, I found an extensive list on WSJ.com that shows which firms are located in the WTC:

interactive.wsj.com

I am just learning the firm that holds our 401k plan at work, also has an office in the WTC. Everyone from this firm got out safely.

I placed an online order to buy some stock in my 401k account at the open. I don't care whether the stock market drops, I'm going to be a buyer at the open.

I'm now just learning there's another group that I have an involvement with, that was located inside the WTC. I new they were located in NY, but never paid attention to their street address since they always fly out to the West Coast. None of the folks have been located yet. This is shocking.

A fireman will be ringing the bell at the open of the market. My eyes teared up when I learned this. A lot of folks lost their lives.

Everyone, good luck in the market when it opens. I hope the market proves over time, terrorism can't stop us.
