In such a situation one must look at the what the alternative would be. Yes This is especially revolting given the recent events. IF there is anything good about the Taliban, it is that they have been very successful at eliminating the opium growing in the country. What is the alternative in Afghanistan ? In the north of Afghanistan, there are rebels fighting against the Taliban. There is very strong evidence that these people are even more radical than the taliban. Recently, the rebels have thrown acid in the faces of women who did not have there face fully covered. They also killed two teenage boys for wearing western clothing. If we destroy the taliban, these are the likely successors. So there are your choices. Pick one.
