Thanks. Yes my thread name has never had more meaning to me personally, and to us all. Actually I originally named myself after the cigarette pack on my desk. But not anymore.

Funny story. I once found myself by chance all alone with Mel Gibson on a hotel terrace late at night. He was smoking American Spirits. I was star-struck and didn't know what to say but finally I told him my thread name. He said "You call yourself American Spirit. And I smoke them. That's great." I was embarrassed and excused myself.

But yes the name does have real meaning now. for us all.

My mama wanted me to get her an American flag to fly outside her door, so I went to WalMart. The customer service lady told me that the store was out of them, the warehouse was out of them and the manufacturer was out of them, so she didn't know when they would have any in stock. I told her, "well, I am not surprised." And we both laughed and nodded. Out in the parking lot at least a dozen cars had American flags on their antennas. One pickup truck was flying a full sized one.

Anyway, she's got already got one for her antenna, and I've got one for the door, so we both have one.
