In my mind, the terrorists and their network are the enemy. The Taliban is part of that network.
I agree fully with this. It appears likely that more than one group was involved. bin Laden's may have been only one. So we take his support out and any another group or nation.
And there may have been nations. Saddam and Iraq have been mentioned repeatedly. That IS war.

The Taliban rules most of Afghanistan. It appears to me that they do so by force.
The Nazis also ruled by force and fear. And the Taliban is the closest thing to a government Afghanistan has. It controls about 90% of the country.

And laser precision is impossible in warfare. There is going to be "collateral damage."

We should use whatever force is necessary to put a stop to this sort of thing. No more. And no less.
