I am not referring to the firefighters who are risking their lives. I am commenting on Captain's comment specifically. I just felt that a silly comment like that coming from a trained fire fighter may make some people think that what he said is true.

You'd think the folks responsible for the building would know too! I heard a lady that was on floor 105 on the radio today. She was saying that the NY Port Authority(a major tenant) was all over the building's intercom telling folks to stay where they were. She apparently did not heed their advice and lived. Many of her co-workers stayed up there and died. This is sad, sad, sad. If people had simply used common sense and left, many more lives would have been saved.
