LOL!! Hey, yah gotta have a dream, eh? But nuclear power? Another in a series of centralized dreams? Hmmmmm....why is it I want to retch? <VBG>

Actually, it has its place in the bigger scheme of things, though I'd prefer fusion to fission (I know, I know, yet another dream out of Curtis). There's just something about waste with a half-life measured in the tens of millennia that bother me. Hell, humanity oft-times has trouble planning much further than beyond its nose, much less being able to take into consideration geologic time-frames. A historical exception to this rule? Egyptian pyramids? ;-)

But as I said, it does have its place. What I'd like to see is an amalgam of technologies which could represent a dispersed energy generation/storage and transport system. Windmill power in the upper mid-west ain't all that far-fetched of an idea, what with the winds out of Canada blowing in a rather.....uh.....consistent fashion. I'll admit it does come with some interesting issues; like bugs sticking to the fan blades a la windshield style, thus adding drag on the efficiency of power generation. How to get the power from remote areas to cities, etc..

And what's wrong with the idea of solar farms in the desert south west? Bottom line? If we stop dreaming we stop moving forward. If we stop moving forward, we stagnate. If we stagnate, we die.
