>>By isolating the cockpit I think we can avoid all of that "stuff".<<

the next one may not even involve a hi-jacked aircraft...our lives will change (for now)

joseph-- agreed we do NOT need a police state BUT we will see (already at airports) some of the freedoms taken for granted impaired. Not one, not every, suggestion concerning security posted here or discussed by the media, is foolproof. None would make a dent in anything but the convenience we WERE accustomed to. The only way to regain our security is to target those that have had any thought of terrorizing any free country and to take those targets, their family, and any and every supporter, out. All the items mentioned could add a few seconds but would deter no one determined to complete missions such as these. I wish I could believe all those suggestions would save one life--- but believing such only makes this country more likely to see more terrorism.
Now think--- if you were one of these nuts and believed hijacking was no longer an option,,, would you say "oh Shit. I guess I have to take up knitting"? No,, there are thousands of other means of terrorism. The only certain method of eliminating terrorism is to eliminate terrorists!
