Hi Cosmo, Well then I misunderstood a couple of your posts. In particular, most conservative Republicans of my acquaintance would never make a statement, as you did upstream in the thread, regarding the envy and status of "the other 80%". Preferring instead to put blinders on and simply disregard the inequality of the world. Glad to hear that you can empathize with the fate of the hoi polloi while being in a better station in life. I'll gladly take back that insulting besmirchment of your political bent. OK? <w> As a left leaning libertarian, I'm also a fan of smaller government. Though I don't trust the charity of private citizens since it never did work worth a damn in the past. I see a role for government to aid the least fortunate among us. But I do agree (perhaps with myself) that private corporations ought to get off the government teat and that charity to corporations from government sources is a terrible and corrupting misallocation of public funds. For instance, it sure seemed to me that there was an awful swift hand extended by some advocates of defense spending as soon as the events of Tuesday unfolded. Kind of unseemly to me, since our intelligence agencies proved so utterly inept at intelligence and protecting us, and the military was simply irrelevant to deal with the situation at hand. But I do understand the argument for bigger budgets. Sadly, just throwing money at this counter-terrorist campaign won't be the real answer. -Ray
