I've been sitting here for the last 2 days, wishing there was something more I could do to help with those who have suffered from the recent tragedy. What I finally decided on was to create a unique intarsia project of a large bald eagle, with a background of a waving American flag. I drew it up and got started yesterday... and assuming I can get a supply of blue stain pine for the blue in the flag (the supplier was caught out of town Tuesday with no way to get back), will make at least one, but possibly more. I'm then going to sell it (possibly on ebay) and give all the money to the Red Cross (I'll probably tell the buyer to write a check to the Red Cross for the winning bid amount). If I have some success selling the first one, I may do more (say a series of 10), or try to sell them to local folks who've seen my work. If you want to see my latest, click on my profile.
