We will need a mission or two to root out Bin Laden and a few other key fascist leaders. But after that we go uncoventional. So, unlike the fascists, we are not after destruction of physical plant, buildings etc. We are after specific people, leaders, engineers, scientists involved in the development and execution of mass murder. Do not underestimate your own intelligence services and their worldwide reach. Free up the CIA/MI5/Spec OPS4/KGB/MOSHAD/NSA/OSS and let them do their thing. Also having been to the Middle East on a number of occasions, my impression is that much information that one needs is for sale for a price. Build a local network of informants and spies. Also do not view the Middle East as uniform or monocultural-It is not only Islamic although the Islamic fundamentalists would like you to believe so. There are Druze, Bahai, Christians, Hindus, Sephardic Jews, Kurds, Armenians, and many other unique religious local sects scattered everywhere throughout all parts of the region. The vast majority of these people do not associate with or approve of the actions of fundamental Islamic terrorists and will be willing to help us rid the world of such a plague. Look at Afghanistan for example. You have a ready made (Northern) Alliance of Russia, Iran, Tadzhikistan, etc. just sittiing there ready to help you with the Taliban. And disregarding the statements of the Taliban about all Muslims fighting the US, Islam itself is not uniform or monocultural in the region. There are at least three major Islamic groups there who only get along amongst themselves to a varying degree at times. Having been to a number American Arab meetings over the years, I can also note that the US has a large pool of very loyal Arabic citizens, primarily (but not only)Arabic Christians who have emigrated from all over every country in the Middle East and who also work diligently on behalf of our intelligence services. Have you ever been to what's called a "Mediterranean Church" service in the US? These are Arab Christians. You might want to attend a service and see how they praise Jesus. And yes, any physical plant of the US can be attacked worldwide. But with a good comprehensive study, minimal effort and physical reworking, it is pretty easy to reduce the potential severity/effect of any attack IMO. When I served with Mobil OIl Coporation, we studied the vulnerability of all of our major facilities worldwide to disaster and attack. Called Risk Management, we made often just simple changes in say, the chemicals for e.g. that we used onsite, or where we stored them, dropped pressure in a vessel process a few PSI, or shifted facilities slightly, so that any problems with terrorists would significantly lessen the impact of an incident upon any adjacent community. This can be applied to utilities, manufacturing plants, manned buildings, transportation networks, literally the works. That same process can be -and should be- applied to our entire infrastructure systematically and worldwide. Look at Israel- The Islamic fundamentalists have been after Israel for over 50 years and Israel is not only still standing, it is thriving right in their backyard. We can do the same. Next turn to Israel for advice on limiting impact of inevitable attacks by the fascist guerillas. They have decades of experience that they can share with you. Finally as an individual, you can take a few steps to limit the impact of any terrorist attacks upon physical plant, germ warfare etc. For e.g., for a small cost you can do what all refineries with their manned buildings do to prevent damage or injury from chemical releases, change your house from a negative to a positive pressure building. Keep a few gallons of bottled water on hand at all times. How about a few basic first aid supplies like disinfectants (that kill all germs)- Have a couple of cans of Lysol in your cupboard? You should. Just remember what Franklin Roosevelt said after Pearl Harbor: "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." Now let's get out there and begin degrading their attack capability. We have let these ticks fester upon the body politic of the world for too long and not removed them....
