It is my limited understanding the todays nuclear devices are much more location specific and that the foot print they leave is much smaller. I don't know if that is true but, it would save many many lives if so. M

"Truman's drops saved millions of lives, Japanese and American." This has been debated for many years with no definitive answer. I'm am quite confident you have no more a lock on this opinion than anyone else. Today, there will only be "similar circumstances" if someone is able to manufacture one.
