the uncertainty of it all just drains us...

...so many emotions; difficult to accept the fact ~ to realize that We Are At War.

...!

Just writing the words seems un-real. empTeeVee this evening is saying that Rumsfeld is ending the combat air patrols over most cities but, now he's calling up 40-50,000 troops. So young; always so damn young ~ were we ever that young, Berney?

Ashcroft impresses me ~ which surprises me because he scared the hell out of many of us when he was nominated: I wrote usdoj.gov and told (his office) how impressed I was {figuring I owed him that much for having mis-judged him}.

Powell, otoh is a disappointment; as is O'neil at Treasury.

But Dubya ~ has just been a disaster for The Party; very difficult for me to support him... I just keep biting my lip, telling myself that I am "saluting the uniform", and not the man who is wearing it.

$40B is whatcha call "fiscal stimulus", Berney ~ and since no one knows what a victory in the War on Terrorism would look like ~ we can presume that it (the "war") and our us.gov printing presses will go on and on and on...

...lots of fiscal stimulus in the foreseeable future: TIPS Bonds and BigBoys should be great investments ;-)
