War is not a pretty show of flowers in a garden. It is a barbaric and ruthless event that creates deep hatred and wounds. From our side we see that the Japanese were barbaric and fanatical. Remember we were dragged kicking and screaming into that war. But finish it we did. The other side would have done the same as we can see by their ruthless behavior but we beat them to the punch. Other wise we would not be here now arguing about the rights and wrongs of politics and humanity

But the Japanese also were supposed to have plans to fight to the very bitter end as well.

They were prepared to fight to the last woman and child. I've seen their training films. Truman saved millions of lives, on both sides.
