Since I am planning a trip at the end of the month to San Jose... I have wondered what the market for airline tickets will be like: higher (additional security costs), lower (reduced demand), or no market (continued disruptions). It seemed like there were some slightly lower fares when I checked this evening with very short purchase requirements (7 days instead of two weeks) and there were seats available for all flights in all fare categories (Southwest Air's site works pretty smoothly).

PT, I guess I don't want to fly right now unless I must. Aside for the major hassles people will encounter, I am not clear that the danger is over. The terrorists' mindset is insidious, and I would not be surprised if they have something planned just as we are beginning to feel some semblance of normalcy.

Just my take.
