re: AMAT travel restrictions-US employees are given a choice on whether or not to travel on business-this was reiterated (strongly) in a recent email. In addition, employees on business travel were asked to stay in place until at least Sunday. I'm not sure why the cancellation was made, but it really would not have mattered, since no flights left on time for SEMICON Taiwan anyways. As an aside, please remember that Malaysia is a mainly Islamic country, and there may be some concern there. The locals here don't seem to be too worried, remember that they have mainland China to worry about as it is. I haven't really noticed anything different here.

Your correspondent in Taipei,
Mark

Mark; hope you're able to return soon.

It’s nice here today in SCLA, I took my typical “nice drive”.

I saw more flag, ribbons and symbols of the USA today, and then I would have seen on a typical "Fourth of July".

Makes me proud, much like my donating to the United Way and having my Company match my contributions. I hope everyone who can take advantage of a Company Matching programs does contribute. I hope to see many more companies take this stand of generosity and unity.
