Watching it all will be his predecessor, currently holed up in Australia, unable to get back home. Bill Clinton must be a caged panther right now, pacing up and down in front of his TV set, itching with frustration. He always said that great presidents were made great by the times, by the challenges they had to face: Lincoln had the civil war, Roosevelt had to beat the depression and Hitler.

Kip,

And yes in December 2000 Clinton had the opportunity to get Osama Bin Laden and flinched. He knew where he was and a decision was made not to go after him . Was this error of hesitation because it was easier to cruise out of office or some other reason that he failed to act. So the "caged panther" as the writer colorfully terms him was a pussy cat in December 2000. Don't ever equate Clinton to Lincoln or Roosevelt because there is no resemblance.

Criticism of Bush Jr. is unfounded particularly when there was and is a threat of still more terrorists roaming airports in this country. Bomb threats are constantly being called in whether false or not they have to be taken seriously. Witness Congress being evacuated last night.
And finally the main text of that article was that Bush Jr. didn't go immediately to New York during all this turmoil. Do you really think that it was prudent to go with buildings still crumbling, terrorists still being arrested and chaos still present in our country?
I'm sure he will be there when it is safe and I wouldn't want him there any time sooner. Don't you believe the terrorists wouldn't love to assassinate the President as well if they could.
Finally, that article you posted was total garbage and I hope you don't believe that kind of crap as well.
