Shutting down the air traffic system was also a very good way to ease fears that any of the random airliners aloft would be turned into another sky-jacked bomb.

That is ONE of the things that went right with this whole disaster. I can't believe you don't see that.


JJ, I happen to agree with your comments re the air transport system; however, I think I know at what may be J. Fowler's hinting.

Our leaders are putting out a lot of talk that the terrorists will not be permitted to shut down our open way of life. Those comments are made as these same leaders are restricting our freedoms.......with our tacit approval.

In that is the danger.....that these restrictions remain in place permanently; that in the future we agree to give up willingly additional freedoms all in the name of a hated enemy. We can never forget that power corrupts; we must never forget that freedom is a fragile concept.
