No post. EOM.

(Ultimately regretted temptation to post and was caught in mid-publication).

PBS Frontline: Osama bin Muhammad bin Awad bin Laden
pbs.org

ABC reporter John Miller recounts his May 1998 hour-long interview with Osama bin Laden at his camp on a mountaintop in southern Afghanistan
pbs.org

Clearly this is a man with a singular purpose. He has the
skills and experience to be exactly what he is. He may
not be insane or deranged, I suspect that he is the
most rational in his sphere of influence, or he would
not be the leader. Everything in his experience has taken
him to precisely the point in time and the place in history
that he occupies.

There will be tens of thousands, maybe millions of militant
extremists that will rise up, wanting to fill his place
after his story ends.

I think it might be time to ban this subject from the
Biotech News thread. Naturally, it was a good subject of
conversation while we are all coming to grips with the
attack this past week.

Miller said after his interview:

So, Ali, you're telling me he's promising genocide, and I'm nodding like an asshole?"

"Yes," Ali said, smiling.
