It is amazing the speed with which people pick up the pieces. Can you imagine the thousands and thousands of meetings that have taken place this week? The market is going to be subject to so much emotion in the next few weeks. I am just keeping hands off...

Me too, X.

What specifically do you find compelling in this article?

Perhaps I have a negative bias overall right now, but this report contains information that is not positive re production, consumer confidence that indicates state of the market even before the terrorist strike Tuesday.

I almost feel like the PC thing to do right now is to apologize for protecting my personal assets/cash/portfolios.

As if it's 'unAmerican' somehow.

I'm very likely to short any bounces as I had been doing since about May of this year.

I'm responsible for my future. Period. That means it requires money. To live on.

I'm seeing much around Cyberspace about patriotic 'buy on Monday to show the bastards.'

I find that concept absurd. Not only would one be playing with fire with one's own money in the most precarious market conditions since, what, WWII? or WWI?, but the 'gesture' couldn't be more anonymous and remote.

Do you understand what I mean here?

Welcome back, Solon. The behavior of our censors here is frequently rather inexplicable, I've found from personal experience. -g-/-ng-

Best I can determine is that response is usually -- and obviously -- reactionary to the noise level of poster-->admin 'communication.'
