Whatever we do, we should not forget the lessons of Vietnam. The US went into that country with a muddled policy and no clear goals other than stopping the Domino effect. Look were it got us - 50,000+ of our people dead and the North Vietnamese in charge of the entire country.

Never underestimate the resolve and tenacity of an enemy who is committed to his cause 110%. If we undertake some sort of prolonged action against the terrorists and those who support them, we had best be in it for the long haul and be prepared for numerous casualties, both military and civilian, and likely on our own soil.

I do like OMD's idea of the World Antiterrorism Protectorate. I'm patiently waiting for him to finish publishing the rest of it. <gg>

I absolutely think the financial aspect needs fully explored even before military action. His "army" needs fed everyday and the area he's in doesn't have a lot resources to draw from.
