Beautiful words, Ike. This may be one of the few good things to come of the past week. Hopefully, we can now appreciate one another better and respect the differences which are a natural part of each of us. How can anyone refuse the hand you have extended?

I am humbled by your gesture, Iqbal! How small our arguments now seem, and how terrible our animosities when we see them writ large. I could never soil the sacrifice and unity we have seen with continued bitterness. As my apology, I offer one of my favorite Scriptures (from I Corinthians 13): When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
