War's effects are not positive for an economy, if the home country is attacked and devastated, or if the war is too long and too expensive. Are you prepared for a nuclear bomb going off in NYC, causing millions of deaths and hundreds of billions in damage? Do you have any doubts after Sept 11 that our enemies are capable of doing it?

This is no WW I or WW II or Vietnam.
