Hi Jim, I have the same fears that you speak of and have two youngsters to add to the stress (they are wonderful, of course the stress of additional worry). I'm sure you have seen anyer's posts re: vertical coffins. While his style can be construed as a bit tasteless, seeing past that he brings up very pertinent issues also. I've been planning to leave the city for a while now. I've now decided to accelerate my plans. Green acres is the place for me........... No not a bunker in the Albertan foothills but far enough from major population centres. With all the technology available today there is not much to forgo. regards Kastel

Jim Black. Good post. We're on the same page Exterminate is the right word. We may not succeed in getting every last individual member. But our leaders, the media and the public must understand that this has to be an all out total campaign to utterly destroy ALL these violent extreme Islamic fundamentalist groups, AND their financial backers. This isn't about one specific band dug into caves in the Afghan mountains that we'll probably have to nuke to get to! Hamas, Hezbollah...we have to exterminate ALL of them. They all have the same objective. That is to wipe us and our civilization from the face of the earth in an insane fanitical crusade to conquer the world Too many media talking heads and goverment spokes people STILL don't get it. They seem to think we can focus on who committted this specific act and the problem is solved. IMO, that's another extremely dangerious miscalculation that could lead to our loosing this war !! Hopefully, the major watershed "attitude adjustment" is still in the process of occuring among these people. But I'll feel a whole lot more confident about all our futures when I not only see statements more reflective of the reality we face but ACTION that carries that brutal and bloody but necessary war plan forward. Thanks, Jim, for reminding me of something. I noticed, when I drove past Pars, a local restaurant today, that the parking lot was empty. As you no doubt know, Pars means Persia - and they serve wonderful Persian food. I love Middle Eastern cuisine. I made a mental note to myself that the next time we eat out, to make a point of eating at a Middle Eastern restaurant, maybe keep doing it. Many Middle Easterners in this country came here to escape from repressive regimes. Most came here seeking a better life for themselves and their children. Even if they don't agree with our policies towards Israel, most would never want to harm their own country, and they are entitled to their dissent. This is a nation built on dissent. Well, if you don't care for shish-ka-bob and falafel, find your own way to offer your support, but that's mine.
