Agreed. That is what makes this attack even more stunning.

Consider analogy to hostage effect (hostages begin to sympathize with their abductors, and often begin to see their point of view). Many of these agents have lived here for months, if not years. They have seen that inhabitants are human beings, with children, hopes, dreams, and that did not stop them from their actions.

At the very least, there should have been security problems, with leaks. There is a depth of hatred here that is, I think, unfathomable to most Americans.
