Jim, the Capitol is a very pretty building. But it is mortal, and like everything mortal, will crumble to dust - later, rather than sooner, God willing. If we fight over a building, we'll be like them, fighting over landscape.

They can blow up the entire city of Washington, the White House, the Capitol, the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Monument, the Jefferson Monument, the museums, the Library of Congress, the Supreme Court building, Union Station, the National Cathedral, every bit of it, but they won't touch us.

They can bomb Mount Rushmore and the Empire State Building and all the football stadiums in the country, but they won't touch us.

Don't meant to say that I'd take it lightly, but it's not about the buildings. We can build new buildings.

When we defeat them, and we will, we should make the surviving people in their countries our allies, and forget about September 11 except every year, on September 11, which we will make a national holiday.
