Great post George! The US has wasted many years in letting the terrorists around the world to Dig In. They can hide in any crowd in any country and blend in. Just as the tunnels in Vietnam were seen as insignificant so were the terrorist camps that were established around the globe. Action against those responsible for Any terrorist act was always less than acceptable. In many cases terrorist acts were Rewarded. Last year when Abu Sayyaf rebels kidnapped the multinational hostages out of Malaysia it was Allowed that Middle Eastern money be used to free the remaining hostages, 10 Million dollars. I will not point a finger at any country though since I believe that they were manipulated into believing that they were doing the right thing. This year with faster speed boats and more weaponry the rebels once again made kidnappings. This time in a greater number and with greater precision and they have been successful in evading the entire Phillipine Army. When it was called for last year to use Force to remove the rebels the money from overseas came flowing in prior to any action being taken. I saw that as mearly a way for the Middle East to fund the rebels and at the same time stop any military action being taken against them. The Abu Sayyaf is funded and trained primarily by Osama BinLaden and his followers. Did you think that it was just a coincedence that one of the Arab pilots who trained at the same time as the hijackers was found in the PI? Action must be taken to remove the threat of terrorism from the world. If you read my last post you will see that I do not believe in targeting any ethnic group, religion or country. Any talk of doing such a thing Really makes me upset. The US should have continued to monitor All terrorists actions over years and taken Action at those times rather than letting the threat grow to the dimensions that it has reached. When it was a serviceman being killed in a hijack attempt and being dumped on a runway where was the follow up to erradicate the Source of the terrorists? The acts have only escalated over the years. Now it has come time for the US to Finally escalate their reaction to the acts. I do not think that it will take a war to erradicate the threat. I hope that the US does not use these actions as an excuse to enter into a war. With the cooperation of a few governments these threats Can be eliminated. Their deaths should be Silent, Swift and celebrate No Glory. It has come time to combat these terrorists on their terms. They will not know when or where they will be hit. They will only know that their time on earth is limited. The US military has these capabilities. Hopefully they will use them. Take Care George! I have to work today.
