Sun tzu Schwarzcopf and his team are " a proven war hero and military genius". Powell lost the war in which Schwarzcopf lead the coalition to win the battle. The proof Saddam Husein is still in power preparing and building weapons of mass destruction

IMHO Powell is a failure in his job period. Better read more about the man and his decisions.

This was the man who opposed the Gulf War, and even when it was launched against his strenuous objections, did all he could to abort it before it was completed. ..................................

............ Powell's racial background also helped give the administration a more inclusive face. Because of his history, reputation and celebrity, he was all but unsackable. And for the first time, Powell occupied the most senior foreign policy post in the administration. With the media in his lap and widespread popular support, he clearly believed he would be the central architect of the new administration's foreign policy. He was installed instantly, long before other officials had time to be confirmed by the Senate. He leaned on moderate and left-leaning advisers, in particular the Middle East dove, Richard Haas. He was greeted with rapture at the demoralized State Department, still recovering from the ineptitude and irrelevance of Madeleine Albright.
