I just presented the points of view. I do think that Americans take their success and consumption of resources too lightly (arrogantly). Should we change? We have to change to become more defensive and protective. That will curtail some freedoms, such as easy access to air travel. Should we stop using up the world's oil supply? We can't stop anytime soon even if we wanted to. So we have to force our way of life throughout the world even more forcefully and persuasively than in the past. My point is that anyone who thinks this will be easy, as some posts seemed to indicate is wrong. "Let's just go in there and whoop up on their butts" is an easy thought to jump to but this problem will not be that simple.
