<<Taliban Warns of 'Revenge' if U.S. Attacks>>

How does that threat compare to "the mother of all wars"?

These guys don't know us very well.

<<< The revenge will be when the US attacks and I hope we stay at it until they have no capability for any return action. >>>

The question is: revenge against WHO?

I know Bin Laden is some kind of spiritual leader who might have inspired some muslims in the U.S. to attack, but I still have a hard time to see a guy who lives in a remote mountain from a poor country can maneuver a successful attack like this. I am not even sure if Bin Laden ever saw a Boeing 767 himself.

On the other hand, I found President Bush's remark on the prior Friday was weird. Maybe I have a too suspicious mind. But I sensed a panic on the president's part when the labor department announced last Friday that unemployment rate jumped from 4.5% to 4.9% in August. That morning, President Bush came out from the White House with some congressional Republicans by his side, and said "We have a plan."

At that time, CNBC was reporting that "so what?" "what plan?" or something to that effect.

Less than 96 hours late, the nation was shocked with those attacks and the attention was totally distracted away from the grim economical news. Getting money from the Congress is not a problem any more. I see missle defense system may become easier to pass as well.

I am still wondering what was President Bush's "plan." I certainly hope it was an economic plan that did not exist (a skewing politician), rather than a plan to divert attentions and for him to hang on to power even when the "Stupid Economy" goes bad.
