Actually, I suspect some airport security will become faster as well as better.

1. Only ticketed pax will be permitted in gate area.

2. Number of pax is about to decline big time. Biz travel has been falling and will fall further. Since biz travel heavily subsidizes leisure travel, prices will go up and there will be fewer leisure travelers.

3. Carry-on baggage will soon be a distant memory.

4. Qualifications and training of security personnel is going to improve.

5. Now, regardless of all the above, the bad new is, pax will have to arrive at airport much earlier before flight. Everyone now has to check in at main ticket counter, even if they have an e-ticket and no luggage.
