This a most thoughtful post. It is also the reason why our only true defense is the cultivation of compassion and the genuine effort to help all humans everywhere. Those who deem it essential to increase the means of destruction should keep your post in mind. Whereas 35,000 years of perfecting and increasing means of destruction has not brought us any closer to the life we seek, what is expected to be achieved from the increase from here? It is time we allow history to be made by what is best about humanity rather than its worse qualities.

This enemy, I believe, thinks in terms of decades. Are we doing that?

I am trying to think beyond Kali Yug, but it is very hard sometimes.

PS: Did anyone see that picture on the cover of NY Times about 6 months of the Afghani father walking with his two infant children fleeing the war and the drought with the caption below about how little boy in the picture died of exposure that same night? Is there really nothing we can do to address such tragedy and suffering?
