He blames the US for offering the world the choice of freedom and reason. He is insanely angry that so many are flocking to our way of life. He blames us because so many of his people disobey his demands, and prefer our way of life.

Dan, with the exception of the Saudis and the surrounding protectorates, I don't see so many Muslims flocking to our way of life economically, and politically fewer. What you say may be a factor in his loathing of us but I have to believe the motivation goes much deeper than that. In his mind we have been involved in several acts of aggression against the Muslim people and continue to support their most hated enemy, the Israelis. I think those factors play a much bigger role.

However, whatever the motivation, I have always felt that Bin Laden's hatred of us is akin to the hatred we now feel for him. That makes for a dangerous enemy. And I just can't buy that he is an insane religious zealot with money. I think we have our work cut out for us.

As for Falwell, he is the truly insane and evil one with his vengeful God who's ready to smote us if we should have a sexual thought during lunch. <g>
