Jomok99 Re..To those who dismiss criticism of an indiscriminate approach to striking back as 'softheaded liberalism' (hmly, for one), Col. David Hackworth was making some very interesting comments on exactly those dangers on CNBC - advocating a very selective strike-back, lest we get engaged in what he called 'another Vietnam'<<<<<<<

Believe it or not, we already are in a war with Vietnam like consequences. We have already suffered 1/10 of the dead. I see no hope of ending the terrorism, without stoping the source; which in my mind is the governments of countries which encourage their citizens to hate countries, and encourage their citizens to go on jihads. Without official or unoffical support, the terrorist camps wouldn't exist, and the clerics couldn't preach hate against anyone if the gov. didn't allow and or encourage it.

The gist of his argument was that by using a scalpel, rather than the gut-urge to carpet-bomb, we'll be saving ourselves a lot of unnecessary grief.<<<<

David would have to be delusional if he thinks bombing a few tents will stop terrorism.
