E you missed the point I made. I was talking about self mutilation. Perhaps you recall the images of religious fanatics who whipped themselves voluntarily. It was this image that I made my comparison to. There are plenty of parallels to religious imagery and the tools of repression that the PC movement has modernized and adapted for the present times. As a side note I remember an interesting imagery brought forth by Arianna Huffington who compared the people who are paraded on the Jerry Springer shows of today as a modern day version of the Quazimodo (Hunchback of Notre Dame).
