Falwell and Robertson have committed a 'Jane Fonda' act, in my opinion. Can you image the hay that the Islamic extremists are making of their statements. The headlines would say, "American Religious Leaders Agree that Allah is Punishing the US for Decandance". It is EXACTLY what they have been telling their people in order to whip them into a blood rage.

So, the first to break ranks were not Democrats or liberals, but the far right. Hopefully, this will push Bush further towards the moderate center, where the majority lives.

I say drop Falwell out of a B-2 on bin Laden in Kabul. The resulting hot air explosion would be tremendous, and our country would be all the better off.

Qwik,

Re-read the text of the message from the Arabic professor. Read it carefully. It is full of warmed-over leftist claptrap. Horsesh** isn't a qualitative term, but it is highly descriptive of the quality of this level of moral-relativism.

What is truly problematic is that someone is using his title as a professor to add weight to a worthless opinion. Now, if YOU think that Israel is a "terrorist state", then you are going to have to agree with him, and you can say that he has a salient point. I DON'T believe that Israel is a terrorist state, but I believe that Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, and Iran are states that sponsor and participate in terrorism.

So, where do you stand?

... great post, QS ...

... some people think that if someone disagrees with them, then that someone is stupid, blind and un-American ... not to mention, that the someone must be labeled ... "What are you, an Arab?" comes to mind ...

... these same people do not listen enough to understand that what others are saying is much the same, only we do not express emotional and hateful outbursts such as ... This is warmed-over leftist/revisionist horsesh**. Put through the spin cycle by a professor of Arabic descent with an axe to grind ... I want ground forces in there and I want them to be instructed to be BRUTAL ... eliminate EVERY ARAB WHO OPENS HIS MOUTH ...

... mind you, not exactly what John Adams, Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson had in mind in 1776 regarding freedom of speech ...

... I do not disagree with the substance of most of their arguments, and they know that ... just their emotional racism, their hatred and their labeling ... and they also know that.
