Every single gnostic book the post Augustine church could get their hands on were burned and the multitude of its followers were exterminated(or confessed their heresy(under duress). This be an extreme dark and hideous moment in Church history that has been suppressed for over 1,500 years--but it is coming out now.The fact there existed a whole other christian church--quite strong,and it took a lot blood letting to crush it. Elements of this destruction carried even into the 13th century as the The Church was challenged by the Cathar/Albigensians movement that was an re-emergence of Gnosticism.(Gnosticism has also it's strong jewish side that is in the Kabbalah) lot of history of out there---Max
