I'd suggested a special weapon, powered by CO2, with multi-shot Taser darts. It's surprising how compliant people can become they are doing the 40kV Watusi!

Oh, and also, a weapon mounted on the back of the cockpit whose exit is camouflaged from the passenger side and which may be aimed with computerized assistence so as to kill the target. This could be connected through remote control to one or more other such camouflaged weapons such that even were the perp to be holding a hostage in front of his body--his back would stiill be exposed to a computer aimed shot.

edit: again, there would need to be a sharing of code in order to "turn on" the mechanisms of lethal capacity.

The most important safeguard, if any precautions are to be meaningful, is that the cockpit be controlled from the inside--electronically and manually--and that NO access from other than staff members, may EVER be allowed regardless of the threat.
