Ah, SOROS, you know what will happen! But I sympathize with you. I feel the same way. Many say the old testament justifies us taking revenge on the terrorists. Pr 28:17* A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him. Jer 22:17* But thine eyes and thine heart are not but for thy covetousness, and for to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it. Jon 3:8* But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands. From a purely Christian perspective, I believe it is apparent that a Christian should not use violence. Ever. I realize that the vast majority of religious leaders are wrapping themselves in the flag and siding with the the "vengeance now" faction. Is this Biblical? What was the motivation in Jesus' time? 48* If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation. Mt 6:21* For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Could it be that Christain leaders have stored up treasures in the wrong place? Finally, if you truly want revenge then: Ro 12:20* Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. In ending, it is apparent to me that the true path is nonviolence. Do not be deceived or amazed that good is called evil and evil is called good.
