In my opinion, the greatest barometer of pride is how many Americans think that we can eradicate this threat so easily.

Ah, SOROS, you know what will happen! But I sympathize with you. I feel the same way.

Here is my viewpoint:

First, the cause:

1* ¶ From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
2* Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
3* Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
4* Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Why did God destroy the Earth during Noah's time?

11* ¶ The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
12* And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
13* ¶ And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

Many say the old testament justifies us taking revenge on the terrorists.

Pr 28:17* A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him.
Jer 22:17* But thine eyes and thine heart are not but for thy covetousness, and for to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it.
Jon 3:8* But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.

Mt 11:12* And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
13* For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

Ps 94:1* O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.

Ro 12:19* Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Joh 18:36* Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

From a purely Christian perspective, I believe it is apparent that a Christian should not use violence. Ever. I realize that the vast majority of religious leaders are wrapping themselves in the flag and siding with the the "vengeance now" faction. Is this Biblical?

What was the motivation in Jesus' time?
48* If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.

Mt 6:21* For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Could it be that Christain leaders have stored up treasures in the wrong place?

Finally, if you truly want revenge then:

Ro 12:20* Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

In ending, it is apparent to me that the true path is nonviolence. Do not be deceived or amazed that good is called evil and evil is called good.
