You're right Juli. Unfortunately those that are blinded by their own jingoistic sense of patriotism can't seem to see that ethnic or religious hatred is not what this country is supposed to be about and not what many of our fathers, mothers, grandfathers and grandmothers sacrificed for in the 1940's. It sure becomes harder to divide the good guys from the bad guys when both sides show signs of the same ignorant bigoted hate.

I work with a lot of folks from several nationalities (in a very non-diverse town) Many are Muslims from all over the world. Is it possible some are "sleepers"? Sure, but I believe the vast majority are caring Americans, that came here to better the lives of their families. Much the same way my Swedish (Viking raiders) ancestors came here for. I don't think there is a nationality or religious group out there that has not acted in some terrorist way over the centuries. I will go so far as to say I have offered our home as sanctuary to a particular Muslim family that I am close to. I not be surprised either to learn that our two adopted children did not have some Muslim heritage to boot.
