Continental Airlines announces 12,000 layoffs. Just the tip of the iceberg. I am not short this market and haven't really participated in it since March, 2000, so don't accuse me of spreading fear and disunity. Just providing the other side of what could happen, since many only look at the so-called positives of invading the Middle East. If we start some sort of war, it better be something totally different than the way we have fought these incidents in the past which ultimately did nothing. Two of these which come to mind is the failed Iranian hostage rescue plan during the Carter administration and the strikes against Bin Laden 2 years ago with "smart bombs". cnn.com
