chinton. Thanks for helping better explain the point I was trying to make.
Your post...." Gosh, Pearl Harbor is history,The depression is history, the gold standard is history, charts are all history.".....

And what exactly have we learned from this history??
We are still at war....we are on the verge of another depression.... we could end up on some sort of a gold standard again.....and charts are useless if whatever you are charting is being manipulated....

....." We are tied up in history.Without knowing the roots of a problem how can you understand it and if nessisary eradicate it.Can we learn from the mistakes of others instead of following in their footsteps?".....

IMO I would think that most great leaders past and present
were/are great students of history but look at where we are to-day. And we just never seem to learn from others mistakes. Maybe we have to make some mistakes so we create some more history for the future to ignore. I don't know it just seems to me that history is interesting but just does not fit in the present.

Your post...." Also have you picked up a history book lately? They weigh a ton and are just the thing to bludgeon somebody to death with.".....

Well, no to the history book question and I didn't know you could kill someone with a history book do you have some training in the art of killing people with strange objects?? Boy bet you could do some real damage with a set of encyclopedia's. :-)

PS. not trying to be picky but check out the word necessary
in your post :-)
