Yorikke,

Excellent post.

I would take it one step further. All Americans should study Israel and how it was created. Study hard. Decide if certain groups were not paid enough, or if perhaps they were blindsided.

Face it. When people are pissed off enough at our foreign policy to do something like this, we are Americans need to be informed.

I had a discussion with 10 people last night that are professionals, and NONE of them knew how Israel was created, none knew anything about our policy accept that "Israel is right most of the time", and 9 out of 10 said all muslims are crazy.

I understand people are upset. I live in the NYC area now and believe me, I am pissed. But education is very important right now.

If you are worried about the markets, read a good book on the 1920's like I did this weekend, and then ask yourself if markets that are overvalued supported on credit (in the 1920's, household debt was very high, and installment plans (aka buying a 50K Lexus SUV when you only make 30K per year, like way too many Americans do right now) were the rage. An attempt was made to prop up the markets similar to what is planned monday and it worked. FOR TWO DAYS.

I am not saying people should panic. Just study last century, look for similarities, and then decide how to invest.

I am sticking with my 401K and buying bonds until things settle down. I also will continue to buy things when I can afford them, now when I cannot.

Best regards to all.
