Iran a country with a heavily Moslem population had a World Cup qualifying match yesterday in Tehran its capital. As always the 90 thousand stadium was (over) packed to capacity. They hold a 60 second silent and prayer before the match. My brother said it was the surreal. Beside some weeping sounds, 90,000 people were dead silent for 60 seconds, very strange in an Iranian soccer match. Many of the people were wearing a black armband, which in Iran symbolizes grief. All Iranian officials, including the most fundamental and hardliners, strongly condemned the terrorist actions and called it “barbaric”, “shocking”, “horrifying” and “sinful”.

Of course US media is not interested in any of these. It is much more important to show a crowd of 20 Palestinians celebrating and implying they are doing so in the name of Islam.

Mani, its hard to see or hear any of what you say over the drumbeat of the war machine. Hopefully, cooler heads will prevail.

Have you experienced any difficulties? There were some anti-Muslim incidents early on in Seattle. However, peacekeepers were put in place on Thurs. and so far, things are quieter.

Iran has closed its borders to refugees from Afghanistan. I think that one of the requests that we make of Pakistan is that they allow the U.S. to set up refugee camps in for Afghanistanis. A special effort should be made to insure Islamic places of worship are set up in these refugee camps to show the world that this is not a war against Islam, only the terrorist and Taliban factions that shelter them.

Mani - hmaly said While we are at it, I believe most terrorists are repulsed by Bin Ladens actions, as he killed thousands of innocent civilians, .
Why are you ignoring what he said and assuming something he didn't say?

Hummm...I heard on the news today that some people in Iran that were having a candleight vigil were jailed? Know anything about that? Could have just been the "l******" press...?
