Mike...a lot of foreign aid used to be wasted. Effective foreign aid is distributed through existing channels. No need to re-invent the wheel. For example if you want to help orphans, you could work through groups already established to help orphans. (UNICEF,Oxfam, Catholic Relief Agencies, Jewish Relief Agencies, Presbyterian Relief Agencies)The above mentioned organizations are pretty frugal on expenses so your dollar donation gets used properly.
