And on the video game front:

Microsoft to Remove Twin Towers From Flight Game

dailynews.yahoo.com

Remember when the game Doom became a scapegoat for the shootings at Columbine? Never thought I'd see the day when MS Flight Simulator joins the ranks of other games considered "violent." :-(

Re: never thought I would so welcome a discussion of an AMD motherboard!!

I know exactly what you mean. Reminders that many parts of our lives are still intact can be so reassuring.

I was on business travel when it happened and drove a rental car until 3AM so that I'd be at my desk on Wednesday (I admit I was more than a little late getting in!) We all just have to keep doing our jobs.

Regards,

Dan

Fascinating set of tests comparing a variety of processors on a variety of tests:

hardware.fr

Got the link from:
amdzone.com

P4 looks OK at first, then you look closer and realize that they are comparing a 1.5GHZ P4 (on Intel's latest 845 chipset) to 1GHZ PIII, Celeron, Athlon, and Duron. And the P4 still loses most of the tests! (well, Celeron is even worse, but that's just more "Intel Inside").
