Bethune is way off the mark.

Continental, he says, usually has a load factor in the high 70's. The reality is 64-68%. This year prior to 9/11 was extraordinary. Before he asks for a government bailout he should consider the funds Continental passed to Air Partners (in the redemption deal for the Class A shares), and took out in stock options. He/Air Partners/Northwest Air took from the shareholders and now he wants a government bailout? He used gobs of cash to buy back shares.

He was only putting polish on the layoff notices, as if.
