Turkey was allied with Germany during World War I, and was stripped of its non- Turkish territories after the war. Britain and France were given various mandatory territories by the League of Nations, to administer until some final disposition was achieved. One of the British mandatory territories was Palestine. It was on this juridical basis that the Balfour Declaration was made........
